We’ll gather and settle in with tea and an introduction to how to read honey color, aroma, consistency and flavors. Our tasting tour will include honeys from different regions, seasons, and elevations of Maui, as well as local macadamia nuts to balance out the sweetness. While we sample we’ll discuss the essence of honey; rain and sunshine become nectar through plants and trees, collected by bees and transformed into gold. We’ll also explore the science of a superorganism, how to read bee-havior, history, past and future of the species, as well as folklore and the global impact of the honeybee.

On this tour we’ll enter the apothecary of the  hive via our six senses. We’ll immerse ourselves in the scents, flavors, and textures of the medicines of the hive by sampling honey, propolis tonic, and bee bread.  We’ll use our inner listening, imagination, and intuition to connect with the inner workings of colony, connecting to the vibrant health and harmony of the bees. We will wrap up our tour with a dip into the remarkable world of beeswax, learning of its creation story while making our own candles.

In this tour we will experience the harmony of the hive through sweetness and bee song. We’ll connect to the vitality of the colony by spending time on the bee bed, as well as sampling a flight of regional and seasonal Maui honeys. Throughout the experience we’ll explore Maui’s ecosystem as experienced by the honeybee, learn about the science and magic of the hive, and receive the benefits of the frequency of bee colonies while enjoying the unique flavors of Hawaii.

This couple’s adventure begins with tea and honey tasting as we explore the rich relationships between the sun, earth, rain, plants, bees, and humans.  We’ll sample a variety of Maui honeys–each one a unique expression of time and place. Tasting tour topics will cover science, history, and mythology of the honeybee, tailored to the particular interests of the participants. After the honey tasting, we’ll migrate to the bee bed for a couple’s resonance session, including both a guided entry and time alone to enjoy the hum of creation together.

We’ll begin our introduction to the honeybee superorganism with a serving of tea and honey tasting flight on the bee bed. We’ll explore ideas  about honeybee science, behavior, history, and mythology while surrounded  by the resonance of thousands of bees. From there we’ll transition into practical learning about how to approach and work with a colony, followed by suiting up for safety and opening a hive. To close we’ll make a keepsake candle to seal the memories with wax.

We’ll begin with tea and an orientation to resonance therapy, followed by an introduction to sound tools and the hive. Instruments utilized include: a Paiste planetary gong, crystal bowls, water drum, Koshi chimes and more. Our session will include a meditative sound bath to clear and tune the body and mind, followed by time on the bee bed to connect with the hum and frequency of the colony. We’ll conclude with warm tea, and an integration discussion.
